OES Student Scholarship Winners

Three IEEE/OES Student Scholarship Awards have been made in 2010. The recipients were:

Ye Li, 2007 IEEE/OES Scholarship Winner, and Norm MIller, Scholarship Committee Chair
At the IEEE/OES Awards Luncheon at OCEANS '07MTS/IEEE Vancouver the first IEEE/OES Student Scholarship Award winner was announced. Mr. Ye Li was awarded the very first annual IEEE/OES Scholarship. Ye Li is a second year PhD student at the University of British Columbia. His doctoral work is on tidal current turbines, their hydrodynamic interactions, and the relative location of such turbines to extract maximum power. He expects to complete his studies in May 2008. Ye Li was a Student Poster Participant at OCEANS '06 MTS/IEEE Boston and received a Third Place award. He served as a judge for the Student Poster Session at OCEANS '07MTS/IEEE Vancouver. The Scholarship Committee was pleased to award the 2007 IEEE/OES Scholarship to him.
